i have to say...

up, up and away!

Our little town had a hot-air balloon launch this past weekend, so I woke up bright and early at 5:30 to go check it out.

It was fun, especially for pictures.  Although I will say that 5:30 is way too early for me!

I came home at about 8:15 and promptly got back into my bed.

That's a good Saturday morning plan for me!

And I apologize for the silence here the last couple of weeks, but it's been a bit crazy here.  Family visiting, graduations, 2 boys home from college, etc., etc.

But here I am with a finished project.

It's another Sew-Together Bag!  This one is a teacher-gift.

There is just something about these little bags that I love.  All of those compartments.  Who doesn't love storage? 

I used Priory Square fabrics for this bag.  The outer floral is a favorite of mine.  Such sweetness with all of those little flowers!

Hello!

I just wanted to tell you all that I won't be doing SHOW AND TELL TUESDAY tomorrow. I have a graduation this week, 2 boys coming home from college and parents visiting. All of this is great, but I can't seem to get caught up. I will try again next week!

a little gift for me

You may not know this about me, but I LOVE Converse shoes.  Always have.  I have 5 pair that I wear frequently, and all are in differing conditions.  My first pair, a pink pair, is really more white now, and they are falling apart, but they are the most comfortable pair of shoes that I own.  Another pair, light blue, is in good condition, but I ripped a very big hole in them while using a shovel a couple of years ago.  That was a bummer, for sure!

This new pair, lavender, has been on my "want" list for a while now.  I am not normally a purple-lover, but something about this color calls my name.  It's pretty girly, but at the same time, not really.

So far these shoes have only seen a photo shoot.  It's been raining the last few days and for their first voyage out in public, I don't want water spots.

So, rain, rain, go away. I have a great new pair of shoes that I need to show off!

Hello, Friends!

I have a wonderful finish for SHOW AND TELL TUESDAY!  To be honest, I am super impressed with myself for making it through the making of this little bag...mostly because of all of the zippers!

If you want to see me intimidated in sewing, just give me a pattern with a zipper...

Why is it that I always get through the zippers just fine, but I always fear them before I do them.  Does anyone else have that same struggle?

Well, here is it with zippers closed:

This bag is genius.  Who makes up patterns like this, anyway?  I wouldn't even know where to begin.  Thank goodness for people who do!

I am going to use my Sew-Together Bag for my sewing notions.  Right now I have a totebag that I carry around the house with me, depending on where I want to sew, but this little bag is gonna hold it all perfectly, minus the thread spools.  Which is probably a good thing, since right now my totebag is a big-ol' jumble of thread!
