And I have to admit that I have nothing to show today.  Christmas-y things are taking up my time these days. In fact, this is going to be our last SHOW AND TELL TUESDAY of this year.  Our next one will be on January 6th.  And I have to say that it feels crazy to say we are doing something in January.  

Really?

is it that time already?

I went to turn the page on my calendar the other day and guess what?  There was nothing left.  No more months to fill out.

So that meant a trip to the store for a new one, because I have the organizing bug.  My shop, my house, and Aubry's school...I am in the mood to write it down and get it done.

I firmly believe that if you have a plan AND work it, you will get where you want to be.

The upcoming new year is always exciting for me...new year, new goals.  But I will say that I have no need to get out of this year and hope that the next one is better...because this one has been just fine. In fact, it's been really good.

And it's been a long time since I have been able to say that!

And thanks to a sewing night last night with some friends, I actually have something to show.

I got the quilting done on my mom's quilt.  The great thing about a mini-quilt is that it's so darn quick!  And I love that binding this is going to be so quick and easy! 

Can I get it done by next week?

I totally hope so!

can i brag on these girls once again?

This week's block was the "Winter Window" from Amy's Little House Quilt-Along.  As usual, the girls had a bunch-o-fun sewing.  Giggling and goofing off were in abundance.

Surprisingly they got done early, so I asked if they would mind organizing our fabric basket, since it had gotten way out of control.

It was hilarious to see how excited they were to do the job.  They even asked if they could iron it all and color-match the piles.

How could I say "no"?

Not only do I have great girls in my class, but  my fabric is organized now too.

It doesn't get much better than that!

as soon as i find the time...

...this is happening!

Time has been in limited supply this last week, and this week doesn't look much better, which is bummer because I need to get this one done before Christmas.  One thing that works in my favor is that our Modern Quilt Club will just meet and sew next week---everyone is bringing their own projects and working on them.  Maybe this will happen then. I am crossing my fingers!

this year

I am super excited to say that this is the first year in a long time that I am totally excited for Christmas. The past couple of years have felt a little bit "iffy", mostly because it was our first "just the kids and I" on our own.  

This time is finally feels right.

And that makes me feel quite happy and peaceful.
