This weekend I was able to go to the Colorado Spring Pioneer Museum and catch an exhibit called A Needle Pulling Thread. It is a wonderful collection of quilts, most of which are 100+ years old!
I was honestly surprised to see some very modern elements in the log cabin quilts!
The layouts especially reflected a fun look at lights and dark values.
For some reason I wasn't able to quite see some patterns on these until I looked through my camera on the phone, but it's the same when I try to see my own quilts. Maybe it's the compact size of the quilt pattern on the viewer?
This one especially looks very modern in it's layout:
If you are local, you need to check out this exhibit. There is a lot to see and it's free.
Have a lovely day, friends!
