I wanted to give you a little peek at our tree this year!

Aubry came up with the idea of making the origami paper boxes---98 of them!---and we went with red and white for color.  It's good that we made so many of those boxes because our dog keeps eating them.  Apparently they make good snacks!

Today I am going Christmas shopping and I fully intend to get. it. all. done.

Then it's time to enjoy this wonderful time of the year!

I found a tutorial for a scarf on Pinterest and (guess what???) I actually made it!

And if any of you are pinners, you know that's a biggie!

Most pins just get pinned and forgotten.

I had planned on making these for Christmas presents, but by the time I gathered all of the goods, it was really just too late, but I do have a couple more to do.  They are going to be tiny toddler scarves and I can't wait til they are done.   I think they are going to be so cute!

This is not my usual SHOW AND TELL TUESDAY thing to show you, but with Christmas coming, only certain things can be posted.  And I know you know what I mean!

Last week I got together with a friend and we made soap.  One batch is Lime-Ginger and one is Cedarwood.  By far the Lime-Ginger is my favorite, since it smells sweet.  The Cedarwood is a much more masculine scent and it smells "woody".  My friend made it for her husband and apparently he loves it!

a bit about my daughter

Hello, Friends!

I wanted to share a little bit about something my daughter has the opportunity to do.  She is in her 3rd year of vet school and she absolutely loves it!  And this next year she has the chance to go to Guatemala to spay and neuter animals with a group called Suenos International.

This is exciting on two levels:  she gets hands-on experience in her field AND my family is from Guatemala.

I managed to get ready to make a string block, but after several tries and much frustration, I decided to set it aside for another day. I knew that when I wanted to scream at my fabric that things had simply done too far!

I really dislike sewing when I get stressed!  Actually most things are no fun when I am stressed!
