i have to say...

a new apron

I finished my apron for an upcoming class!  This one went together quick and easy, about one hour of sewing, start to finish!

The gals in my class will love it since a number of them are brand new to sewing. It's always great to try something new and be successful!

I also finshed two quilts and I am hoping to finsh one more by this weekend.  Yee-haw! I may actually be able to tackle my patchwork curtains soon.  That's a good thing, since those are what I really want to work on anyway!

show and tell tuesday

Hello!  It's SHOW AND TELL TUESDAY (guidelines are below)!  And I have a lot of progress to share!  Yippee!

I really feel like I needed some progress to happen. My to-do pile is way too big---and it's growing!

I finished the quilting on the above quilt and should be able to finish it completely tomorrow. It's for an upcoming class, so it needs to be done soon!

Also, I cut out an apron for my upcoming class.  I was in the mood for bikes!

Tomorrow I plan on finishing the above quilt, my spools quilt, the apron, and possibly Aubry's quilt.

my to-do pile

I need to get some of this done!  The next couple of days should yield me some good time with Delilah, so I expect to have some finishes for you soon.  

At least completed machine-quilting!  

Also, I need to get an apron started and finished for my next class.

I am kind of feeling the crush of pressure, but at least I like to do this!

is this really happening?

Oh, my goodness!

The leaves in my yard are starting to turn already!

Need I say that I am not ready?

This has been such a great summer with lots of new activities and friends, and I hate to see it come to an end.

I am having to switch gears mentally and start thinking of great things to do in the fall.  I want it to be just as good as this summer!

This week I have a quilt top just about done.  All I need to do is sew on the borders on three sides of this one.  Then I get to start on machine-quilting.

 My hope is to make some progress this week on my pile of WIP's  Up  until this time I neglected that pile, and it totally needs to be tamed!

something new

I photographed a wedding this weekend for a dear friend.  And let me tell you that I did not feel up to the task!  But thanks to a friend who helped out tremendously (and was very good at posing people), I think that all went well.

It's a big deal to be responsible to the picture of a wedding. I mean, it's not like you can call everyone back a few days later when you find that the photographs stink!

So far I have only been able to play around with some of the pictures of the groom and his guys, but there are some cute ones so far.  I like that they reflect this silly, wonderful group of young men!

Hey, Friends!

It's SHOW AND TELL TUESDAY!  And I am gonna show you what I have doing so far this week: teaching class.

This was the last class of the summer for my girls so we made tied fleece blankets.  Today we will be making pillowcases (gotta add some actual sewing, you know!).

This little group of mine is simply wonderful.  They are all to the point where they can cut their own fabric, sew a seam on their own, and generally come out with a good finished product.  It took us a few months to get to that point, but they all love sewing and they keep coming back.  

Makes me happy!
