This week Aubry and I made some progress on here super duper colorful quilt!

I made up the blocks and she sewed.  We still have several to get done, but the rocks in my yard took up all of my time this weekend.  The warmer it gets outside, the harder it is to sit down at the machine, don't you think?

what my weekend looked like

I had a great weekend! It was full of work, but it feels so nice to have my yard done.

Saturday was spent laying down bark in my flower beds, and putting down the fabric layer for the rocks.  For a while I was pretty concerned that the rocks weren't going to come close to covering the area in the yard---1350 square feet.  The pile seemed way too small.

Some wonderful friends came over to help out.  It was actually a lot of fun (how can moving 10 tons of rock be fun!?!?!?) and the rocks covered the area perfectly.

Perfectly, I tell ya!

I have about one wheelbarrow-full of rock left and I will use that to fill in the some holes in another part of my yard.

Having less grass makes me look forward to a much smaller water bill this year!   Unless the price of water goes up, of course!  :)

The shadowing in the picture doesn't do this justice.  The color of the rock against the grass and the house is very pretty.

more sewing!?!?!

Yes!

We got started on Aubry's quilt.  She picked out these colors and prints and she did a bunch of the sewing too.  So far we have 1/2 of the blocks done, so hopefully by SHOW AND TELL TUESDAY I will have a completed top.

I can dream, right???

One the agenda for this weekend?  Moving 5 tons of rocks with wheelbarrows and shovels.  Seriously!  My son's friends are coming over to help me get a huge yard project done and I am so excited about it!  This spring lots of things are coming together and getting completed.  That's a great feeling after having so many thing undone!

Sheesh!  10 days with no computer!  Or at least a really, really slow computer!  So slow it was taking about one hour for each picture to load.

All we had to do was replace the modem, but my tech guy is my 16-year old son, and he had to get things working between his own homework and social schedule, and you probably know how that goes!

My triangle quilt top is done.  And I like how it is coming along.  The triangles make for such a perfect, scrappy look!  I think one done in all reds would be fun, don't you think?  Maybe reds and pinks?

I am going to spend some time today working on Aubry's quilt blocks, so soon I will have 2 quilt tops to finish.  Looks like some machine-quilting is coming my way!

computer problems...

...will keep me from posting for a few days.  Something is going on that is making picture-posting so slow that it took me a full weekend to post Glimma in the shop.  Sorry, no picture though!  Click here to check out Lotta's newest line for Windham!
