piles of goodness

My daughter has been asking to earn some money doing chores around the house, and it dawned on me that she could organize my fabric stash and move it into the craft room.

My previous fabric shelves were easily half the size of these ones, and I am stunned at how much fabric I have!

There are even more piles for her to deal with today.

I guess fabric multiplies when you organize it!

I sure do love what she has done so far.

A few scrappy projects might need to happen soon!

this pile o' mine...

...just got bigger!

This weekend I was in a mad organizing mode and I found 2 unfinished quilt tops!  They are both super simple layouts, but I still want to finish them.  When the kids have all of their friends over, the quilts I have generally get used up when it's cold or when they sleep over.

At this point I have this craftiness all stacked up on a shelf.  It's in a room that is being made over into a craft and sewing space.  I can't wait to have my sewing machine set up in a permanent spot!  It seems that I will get so much more done.  

Maybe?

Am I the only one in organizing mode lately?  Yesterday I tackled the garage, all bathroom cabinets, and I rearranged my bedroom.  The kids and I also cleaned the whole house. I sure am excited about that.  The kids?  Not so much.

I wonder why not?

next up...

Another one of my classes for February is the "Everything in it's Place" pouch.  This one is simple and fun, and once you make one, it's hard to stop.  Kind of like potato chips!

I am feeling pretty blessed lately with this little job of mine.  Doing what I love and earning a little bit o' money.  Works for me!  I am not much of a 9 to 5 office gal, and this opportunity came at just the right time!

My favorite part of teaching classes is meeting new people and teaching newbies to sew. It's always so nice when someone leaves excited and ready to move on to their next project!

What  about you? Is there anything you would like to learn to do?  Or teach someone to do?
