Aubry and I made a fun Valentine's garland using Dottie Angel's tutorial. It was fun and simple and inexpensive. Also, a bit addictive. Aubry ended up making several and we made enough to give to a couple of special girls we know.
When we were hanging them in Aubry's room I started really noticing how many little decorating projects my girl has undertaken (or has prompted me to undertake!). She is a mini Martha Stewart, I tell ya!
First up we have the desk and chair that we repainted recently. The desk was a steal at $5 and the chair was free from a yard sale this summer. Also, we made a bulletin board out of polkas and big flowers. Please note the fabric strips in her doorway (but ignore the drying rack out in the hall). She also has her Valentine's outfit folded neatly in the left corner of the picture. See the basket of fabric scraps next to the desk?:
Here is a fabric banner she made after seeing one on a blog I was looking at. She is good at just jumping into a craft and figuring things out herself:
Garlands along with a fabric valance (she made both) adorn her closet corner. She decorated a scrapbook page with origami flowers and a picture of a friend:
She is a girl who must be in a decorated environment, for sure. The more color, the better.
Gosh, I like that kid!
