Isn't it ridiculous how that is a novel idea? As if it is a new idea to use what you have rather than buying something new? That is one benefit of our country's financial woes, if you ask me. We have to evaluate purchases and check what we have on hand first.
I made my Darla quilt a while ago, but have not used it because I haven't had redecorating money so that I can buy a red coverlet, eyelet bed ruffle and new shams. Finally I just dug into what I already had stored in my closet and came up with some goodies that match--sort of. It's good enough for me.
The quilt brings a bit of springtime into my house and I love it for that. I am just waiting for a day that I can throw open the windows and feel some warmth. Doesn't that sound wonderful?
Snow is coming this weekend, but I have a lovely patch of flowers in my bedroom.
I can dream, can't I?
