I wanted to provide some more direction on the machine-quilting part of the quilt. It seems that a number of people are stuck on this step.
These tutorials are from other bloggers and I thought maybe seeing things from another view would be helpful.

My advice is keep practicing. Work on a practice piece until you start liking what you see. Since this is your first quilt, it will not be perfect. My quilt is completely quilted and it is not perfect. I do know, however, that my next quilt will be even better.
