There are too many numbers in my title! There is a reason though, and I am gonna tell you why.
First up, today is my birthday! I am 15,706 days old.
Quite young, don't you think?
(You need to answer that question "yes", by the way.)
This has been a great year for me. So many new things have come my way, mostly notably the running of my first 5K and my brown belt in Karate. Not too bad for a 15,706 day old gal, don't you think?
This year I have a few goals on my mind:
--running a 10K
--learning to properly use my camera
--learning to use Photoshop (guess what I am getting for my birthday!)
--i am going to Quilt Market this next year, no matter what! to be totally honest, i chickened out this time and i am regretting it. technically i should be chatting it up with Amy Butler and Sandi Henderson right now, but in reality i am in my pajamas, drinking coffee, knowing that i need to get the kids ready for co-op. good stuff, but next year i will be there!
--teach a girl's "sewing camp" over summer vacation
--get involved in teaching adults to read. i think that is so important and it has been on my mind lately. just need to find a venue in which to do it...
--be more active in decision making.
--challenge myself more
--do more things that scare me (like going to quilt market!)
Lots to do, lots to do. Lucky for me I have 365 days to work with.
Next up are my quilts for Amy's Blogger's Quilt Festival. Amy plans this so all of us not-going-to-market gals can do something fun while we wish we were there.
Can you imagine being surrounded by all of that textile loveliness? Heaven, I tell you!
I made these two quilts about 2 years ago. They were my first step back into quilting and crafting after a 5 year absence. I still don't know what prompted me to throw away all of fabric (gasp!) and pack away my sewing machine, but I will say that craft blogs were what drew me back in. How wonderful to find such a talented and lovely group of ladies to be inspired by!
This one (above) is my favorite because it is the first one that I ever designed myself. I will say, however, that the machine quilting on this one is terrible! It is the first one I ever tried on my machine and at the time I didn't know that my machine was making a mess of things. My new machine is MUCH better at quilting!
This quilt was made using Denyse Schmidt's Hop Skip and Jump pattern.
Did I mention that my little shop is part of the giveaways over at Amy's? I think there are about 20 altogether, so you need to get over there and sign up!
After all, we are talking about free fabric, girls, free fabric!
Have a great day, all!
