It is such a treat to load up on fresh, yummy veggies and sample homemade cheeses and buy the best tamales ever and visit with friends. Too bad we are at the end of the season. A few more weeks and it will be all gone.
I bought 9 ears of corn and we ate all of them. They were amazing all drenched in butter and salt and pepper. I don't skimp with the butter when it comes to stuff like this. The potatoes and beans were steamed and then I added some olive oil, salt, pepper and fresh thyme from the garden. Should I mention the tomatoes sliced lovingly on a plate?
Yeah, that would be too much.
I am going to miss all of this, but it occurs to me that garden-planning time is just around the corner. While we wade through another fall and winter I can dream of what next spring will bring. What do I need to plant more of? How can we get a better crop from the ones we already grow? When is the first date of the farmer's market?
It's all going to come around again. And again. And again.
Life is just that way.
Lucky us!
