I am just loving this fall. Beautiful weather, amazing colors and, now, adorable kids--at least I think so!
Not much explanation is needed on the costumes, but I will say once again that I had planned to make Aubry's costume, but a chance meeting with a friend brought the blessing of a borrowed Dorothy dress, and I was so relieved about that. Making the dress would have pushed me over the busy-ness edge, and that is a no-no!
Cocoa the brown bear masqueraded as Toto. He was also the keeper of the candy. One of my favorite parts of Halloween is watching the kids sort and separate and trade their candy when all is said and done. Getting rid of Mary-Janes and fruit-flavored Tootsie Rolls is hard in our house! Anything chocolate or of the nerds-starburst-gobstopper variety are highlycoveted!
The cutest costume award goes to my friend's parents. They went as milk-and-cookies. The have been married for 50 years and they still go everywhere together, and are usually holding hands. So very sweet:
On our way home, Aubry had to take her shoes off because they hurt her feet. I guess even Dorothy likes to skip barefoot, all the while remembering that there is no place like home.
No place like home.
Have a great day!
