This weekend my hubs and I were able to get out of town ALL BY OURSELVES! We really needed it!
We have both been so wrapped up in life's busyness that we seemed to have lost each other for a short time. No good!
We spent time talking and shopping and eating and bicycling and just being "us". It was so great to be reminded why my guy is so lovable.
One thing about my guy is that he makes me laugh---even when he isn't trying!
At one point we were having a hard time finding our hotel room. When we got into the elevator we noticed that there was no floor number "5" button. Floors 1-4 and 6-8 and garage floors 1-5 were all present, but our floor, number 5, was missing.
Because my hubs is a guy through-and-through, he suggested that we just stay on the elevator and press every button until we find the floor that resembles ours. My idea of getting off of the elevator and asking someone at the front desk where our floor went seemed silly to my hubs, so we went with pressing every button.
The upside of this is that we made some new friends while riding the floors. Lots of nice people get on and off elevators, which you might never know if you didn't stay on one for an extended period of time, like us.
We did finally find our floor, after trying all of the 1-8 floor buttons twice. Once we switched to the garage buttons we found our room. Who knew that there were actual rooms on the garage floors!?!
Home at last! Problem solved.
I love my guy and I am so glad for the sillyness he brings to my life.
Thank goodness for the occasional weekend getaway!
