No one has ever accussed me of being a girly-girl. Frills, ribbons, glitter and glam occupy a tiny corner of my life, and besides, my daughter sports enough pink for the both of us.
My way is casual. If it is comfortable, I wear it, which, of course, translates me into a pretty bland dresser. What can I say? Fashion has never been at the top of my list.
This spring finds me wearing skirts at the request of my hubby and I find myself liking the girliness of it, in spite of the fact that I am regularly asked why I am so dressed up. I keep my reply simple--"my hubby likes how I look in skirts"--and I let other people deal with their own image of me.
One side benefit of wearing skirts is that they double as kitchen towels when I need to dry my hands, and you can be comforted in knowing that I am girly enough to check my skirt before I go out in public to make sure that it is nice and clean.

It has taken too many years for me to access my girly side, but I do think that my 5 year old pink princess will be proud of me!
