« Back to handmade quilt: a me and my girl tutorial
The first (and sometimes, the most fun!) order of business is to pick out your supplies. This can be hard for some of us moms, but it is a great idea to let your child pick out their fabrics and colors for this project. This makes it personal to them and helps them to develop their style. Here is the list of goods you will need:
Four 20" X 20" pieces of fabric. Scraps can be used or you can use bandanas like Aubry did.
Approximately 1-1/2 yards of fabric for your backing
Approximately 1-1/2 yards of batting (I like to use Warm and Natural)
Thread
Coordinating embroidery floss for tying the quilt
Disappearing Ink Marker (you can find these at almost any fabric/craft store)
Pins
Needle
Scissors
Now it is time to start!
