So, we did the Manitou Incline again on Saturday and it was freezing!
Seriously, there were people coming down the mountain with icicles in their hair!
I took Aubry and two other friends up with me, and let me just say that the younger two weren't all that cooperative. I had to really push them to get to the halfway point. Mostly it was the cold that was bugging them. They are usually more "I can do it" girls, but on Saturday they were mopey and cranky.
On the way home, they were chatting about making it to the top next time!
We are going to do this several more times over the spring and summer, so I expect to make it to the top and time myself next time. My goal for next time is under one hour, and my goal for the end of summer is under 50 minutes. Both of those are pretty slow times overall, but for me, they will do just fine!
So, I climbed that Manitou Incline once again! It was a lovely day on Saturday and actually pretty cold, which worked out well once I got going on the steps. And the wind was nice enough to hold on until we reached the top.
There are 2,000+ stairs.
The incline is almost one mile long.
And it gains 2,000 feet in elevation.
My time was 1 hour and 6 minutes.
My goal for the end of the summer is a time closer to 50 minutes, which is totally do-able. My son hiked with my this weekend and did it in 38 minutes. Sheesh!
Not girly shoes, but shoes like Vans, Converse and Doc Martens. This girl rarely wears heels!
I found these Hello Kitty Vans a couple of weeks ago and they were 50% off.
Have I mentioned that I love Hello Kitty?
And that I LOVE a good sale?
Oh my gosh, these were like a perfect storm for my feet!
I met a little girl at a basketball game last weekend and she had a Hello Kitty watch on. We bonded, to say the least. She sat by me the whole time, pretty much snuggling me and being my best buddy. It was really cute.
