i have to say...

is it already friday?

My hubs has been off work this week, so nothing has gotten done around my house!  He is a flooring contractor, and most people don't want their house torn up over the holidays, and that makes for automatic vacation time for us.

Today he is working so I will be working on some sew-along details.  Our first will be on January 10th and I hope to have a sneak peek on Monday.  Maybe Tuesday?

This weekend is pretty open for us so far, which is great since my house is so out of order.  I need to get back in the groove before trying to really get back in the groove on Monday, if you know what I mean.  I don't function well when my house is out of sorts!

Well, it's time to sign off for now.  I hope this last weekend of 2011 is full of happiness and memory-making for you!

***planning for a gingerbread house party tonight.

***a 17-year old son who can wait for Christmas. it's his favorite holiday!

***looking forward to watching Christmas Vacation.

***working on sew-along details next to my hubs while he watches Conan the Barbarian.  a funny mix of girl-time and guy-time.

***kids who are willing to rethink our Christmas candy-making plans this year so that I don't feel tempted to eat whole batches of chocolate-covered caramels.  what can i say?  my self-control is low!

making chai tea

I made this wonderful chai tea concentrate so that we could have it ready to go for Christmas.  It's always nice to have things on hand that don't require preparation.  More time for family and friends!

Rather than using 1/3 cup of the concentrate, I used 1 part concentrate to 1 part milk.  I made mine with nonfat milk and it tasted great, although I am used to drinking that type of milk anyway.  My hubs used almond milk for his.  Regular types of milk would be great too, I am sure, but I didn't have any on hand to check.

You just need to trust me on this one!
