All year long I feel like my actions and decisions are written on a large chalkboard. When I do something wrong or just want to change things, I simply use the eraser to clear some space. That space reminds me of grade-school days when the teacher erased and left a big, cloudy white mark that needed to be erased until it was clean. It really bothered me to see that cloud.
The new year feels like I have taken my chalk board and washed it clean with a damp cloth and clapped the erasers together to remove their dust. All that I am left with it a bright green chalkboard, all ready for new things to make their mark on it's space.
I simply love the new year.
Christmas decorations are put away. Junk food is no longer on our shelves. The house is organized. Goals are fresh and clean on my virtual chalkboard.
I feel like I can accomplish something.
Relationships to mend. Skills to learn. Time to spend. Weight to be lost.
It can be done.
Will I do it all? No! But that doesn't stop me from getting up and starting over. Fresh. Clean.
A new year.
So much to look forward to!
Happy 2010!
