Welcome to the July edition of The Recipe Box Swap! This month's theme is "BBQ-main dishes and sides". Whether you throw it on the grill, or eat it alongside, post your recipe on your blog and add your post URL to the auto-link below.
My contribution is "Aunt Cheryl's Baked Beans". My aunt gave me this recipe a number of years ago and it never fails to impress. I love it because it is easy and my hubs loves it because it has bacon---and lots of it!
This is where I need to apologize ahead of time for lacking a picture of the finished dish, but the week just got away from me. I don't know why I always think summer is going to be so full of free-time!!! So I give you a picture of some of the ingredients:
Aunt Cheryl's Baked Beans
2-28 ounce cans of Bushes Baked Beans
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tsp. prepared mustard
1 cup onion, chopped
1/2 pound bacon, partially cooked and crumbled or chopped
Stir together the first 5 ingredients and pour into a greased baking dish. Top with the bacon pieces (do not stir the bacon into the beans!). Bake for 45 minutes to one hour at 400 degrees. Stir in the bacon and serve warm.
Enjoy!

Having found myself a bit busy right now, I have no recipes to share. I will gladly sample your recipe though. Will you be serving it at the 4th of July bash?
Thanks for being such a wonderful friend. I look forward to relaxing (ha! with Haley that might not be possible) Friday night!!!

Randi, would you believe, I had my post half written, then came over here to see what you'd posted and it was the exact same thing. The recipe was almost exactly the same, too! ;-)
I decided I'd post something different, LOL. ;-Þ
I can vouch for the fact that your recipe is a good one!

OK, this is really funny to me, because this is identical to my mil's baked bean recipe which she thinks is totally unique to her. ; ) But I won't tell her and burst her bubble. My entire family LOVES these baked beans, they are always a hit.

My mom's recipe is very similar to your's, Randi. I make the same thing, but sort of just dump stuff into it. LOL!
I failed to add Corn Casserole by my entry name. It's a good recipe.
