i was sitting by the window...
...watching the snowfall. All the while dreaming of spring.
Seed starts. A compost pile. Enough tomatoes to last the year. An herb garden. Two apple trees? Organic pest control. Weed pulling with the kids on Wednesday mornings? Maybe some flowers. Container gardening sounds good.
Today we play in the snow.
Have a happy day!
***Thanks, Becky, for the wonderful magazine! So far it has been inspiring! ;)

You are VERY welcome. I am so pleased that you are enjoying it. I enjoy mine for sure. This year I PROMISE I am going to grow something I can eat. Tomatoes in a pot sound good. Florida makes it hard to do a vegetable garden. SO HOT!

Yup, come deep winter I am ready to think of digging in the earth. I begin to pour over all the seed catalogs and verbalizing my need to put my hands to the dirt. However, come July I have had enough and am ready to throw the weeds away and run to the lake.
Such traditions, memories and words flooding back from years of my mother doing the same.

ahhh...what lovely dreams. I was thinking about the same thing as I was walking through the snow today.

Oh, I'm the same way- once the beauty and magic of a white Christmas is over, I am looking forward to spring- so much!
I love this picture- it's so bright and simple; I can almost imagine that it is spring light reflecting on the table! :)

Funny, I just started planning out my soon to be re-located garden. Spring must be in the air (somewhere under the rain and snow)

I do love spring, but I love the snow more. Right now we are getting RAIN and it is taking away all of our snow! So sad. This happened last year, then on Valentines day we got hit with a HUGE storm...I hope it happens again, but sooner! Enjoy the snow!

I haven't even done the winter clean-up in my yard that I am supposed to do. I am out of the gardening-thing lately. I remember planning gardens in the winter--such a lovely thing to look forward to.

It's hard NOT to think of gardens right now as my mailbox is continually filling with catalogs! LOL! It is a paradox, isn't it, to look out at the snowy garden as you page through a gardening catalog while pondering what you'd like to grow. And yet, such a relaxing winter activity :-)
Blessings,

Spring is still so far away, I can't allow myself to start thinking about it or I'll get depressed about it! I make lists like this too, usually in late February!
