1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
1 cup peeled, shredded apple
1/4 cup oil
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans
Mix the first 6 ingredients together in a bowl. Add all the other ingredients and stir until combined. Spoon batter into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then remove the bread. Cool the bread completely and cover in plastic wrap overnight.
Enjoy!
---The recipe also calls for 1/4 tsp. nutmeg but I don't use it because I don't like the taste. Also, if the batter is too dry, just add a little more milk. This recipe makes a wonderful tasting bread, great for using all those leftover apples!
---This is a re-post of one of our favorite bread recipes.

That looks so delicious AND I have all the ingredients! I was wanting to bake something today but I'm out of BUTTER!

Yum! That looks wonderful! We've been making pear recipes lately, mostly baked, because the neighbor's tree is absolutely loaded with fruit. I wonder if I can use pears with this . . . . I think I'll give it a try. :)

Ooh, thank you for sharing that recipe. I've been wanting a good harvest bread recipe. If only I weren't out of apples, I'd make a loaf in the morning. I'm anxious to try it.
Cool fall morning, a cup of hot coffee, and a slice of harvest bread. What a way to start a day, huh? :-)

This bread is just what the cook ordered...we still have lots of apples to pick from our trees. I have never made apple bread before, but will this weekend. A perfect project with my granddaughters who will be visiting! Thank you.
